Typeface Demos

We are looking to offer downloadable demo files sometime in the near future. Contact us to receive demo files by email, you must state your project/client and the specific typeface to demo.

Can’t find a font

From time to time we review and refine our collection. Occasionally we might also remove a font from our website to improve it. If you can't find a typeface you're looking for you can contact us.

Custom Fonts

We design custom typefaces as well as modify our exisiting retail fonts. We can design fonts in any language, variable fonts, color fonts and beyond.

Student Discount

We are working to provide student discounts in 2026, for now please contact us and provide proof of study (like a student ID).

Modifying a typefaces

You may edit the shapes of characters in programs like Adobe Illustrator to create vector artwork. However, modifying the font software itself to create a new version of the typeface is only permitted to be done by us.

We offer custom type design services to modify letterforms, add new weights, OpenType features, or extra language support.

What license do I need?

The Desktop License is for creating content in programs like InDesign, Photoshop, Figma, Word. Your content can be of physical or digital form such as t-shirts, books, signage or social media content. This license is scaled according to the number of people who will be using the font software.

The WebFont License is for uploading the font software to your website to style your website text, like this text you are reading is set in our Halisa typeface. The license is scaled according to the number of website visitors you have per month.

We offer custom licensing to allow for use in things like mobile apps, video games, broadcasting, movies, hardware. We also offer unlimited font licenses or enterprise licensing on request, please contact us with your needs.

Historic orders

Orders placed before 4 November 2023 can be retrieved by emailing us, just let us know the email address you used to order.

For orders from 4 November 2023 onwards, you can access your files via the link in your order confirmation email. Can’t find the email? Get in touch and we’ll help you out.

Who buys the typeface, me or client?

Anyone can buy the typeface license, but there can only be one license owner (licensee) and this should be the client / whoever owns the content resulting from using the typeface.

Payment options

All sales are in USD. You can make payment with all major credit cards.

Our payments are managed by Stripe, which is certified PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the highest level of certification available.

We also accept bank transfer for larger transactions on request.

Order Access

After completing your purchase you will be directed to a download page + emailed this link for future reference.

Taxes and VAT

There is no sales tax (or vat) for customers outside of New Zealand (where TDF is located). We do not charge sales tax on any international orders, since international customers have no responsibility to pay this to the New Zealand government. If you are based in New Zealand and shopping with us GST will be added.

Refunds

We don't offer refunds or exchanges on typefaces. Due to the digital nature of our products and your instant access to our product all sales are final as we have no way to guarantee that our product will no longer be in your possession.

You can not change your license post purchase. You can not exchange or swap typefaces post purchase. Please order carefully.

Physical products can be returned if faulty or damaged, return postage is at customer's expense.

Invoices

You will be emailed an invoice within a few minutes of your order. This is sent from Stripe (our payment platform), please check your junk folder if you're missing it.

Upgrading a license

You can upgrade your license at anytime, please contact us to arrange so we can offer you the best pricing.

Designing a logo

You can design a logo with our Desktop License.

Social Media

You can use our fonts in your social media content with our Desktop License.

Share typefaces with others

Everyone using a typeface needs to be accounted for by a license. Desktop Licenses are sold by the number of users (people) who will use the typeface, do not share beyond the licensed amount.

Unlicensed sharing of our fonts is piracy. We actively look for our typefaces in use and preform license checks whenever we see our typefaces in use.

Printer / service bureau

We suggest converting live text to outlines when sending your documents to be printed. If required you may send a service bureau font files, but you must ensure the files are deleted after your job is complete.

Embedding in PDFs

You are permitted to embed subset font software in documents such as PDFs with the Desktop License. However a separate license is required for applications, computer software, epubs, kiosks, videos game, or any other kinds of embedding. Send us an email if you have any questions.

Editing a typeface

You can edit the outlined letterforms of our typefaces in programs like Adobe Illustrator for export into an image or document. You can not directly edit the font files to produce an alternative version of our typefaces. If you need this done please contact us.

Shipping times

The USA, Europe and South American orders can take about 2 to 5 weeks, sometimes faster, sometimes slower depending on how busy the postal service is. Australia and Asia orders take about 2-3 weeks.

Order tracking

We ship out all orders within 3 days of being placed. You will be sent a tracking number once shipped.

Paper goods or low-value orders are untracked, other items are tracked and your tracking number will be provided in a seperate email by NZ Post, please check your junk folder before contacting us.

Damaged order

We're so sorry to hear your order is damaged, we package our souvenirs as best we can within the weight and size limitations set by our shipping partner. It's rare but sometimes packages do get damaged.

If it was a free gift with a typeface purchase we are unable to replace this for you due to limited stocks of our free souvenirs.

If it was a purchased good, please email us photos of the damage and we will assist you.

Clothing doesn't fit

We can replace it for you if it is unworn and returned to us in as new condition. Return shipping is not covered by TDF. Once we receive the item back we will send out the correct size to you or refund if out of stock.

Please email us first to let us know you are returning an item.

Restock sold out items

Most likely we won't restock something sold out. All our products are intentionally limited.
