Delivered in two styles (Regular and Deco) Pivot was originally inspired by digits on digital watches, primarily how the character forms are rigid and strictly defined by the constraints of the LCD technology. Using this concept as a structure for Pivot, strict rules are imposed on how the glyphs are formed using essentially only circular forms and cuts.




Karan Singh is an Australian artist and illustrator living in Tokyo. While he studied interaction design, the self-taught artist has focused on visual arts and illustration for the past nine years, drawing inspiration from graphic design sensibilities and op-art minimalism. His professional career has seen him create work over a variety of disciplines ranging from artworks for IBM, animations for the band OK Go, textiles for Heineken and now a typeface for TDF.
