EXHIBITION: Century: 100 Years of Type in Design

EXHIBITION VISIT: Back in May TDF staff travelled to the USA for a typographic field-trip. We went to research graphic design / type trends and generally gather a better understanding of the country our website is most popular in. The trip was fantastic, we met some great people, attended countless museums and galleries, but one thing we were most looking forward to was a visit to Century: 100 Years of Type in Design, hosted by AIGA and organised by Monotype.

Rare and unique works from archives in the USA and England were on display showing typeface conception, including original drawings from some of the worlds most loved (or hated) typefaces such as Rockwell and Helvetica. The exhibition also featured classic type posters, publications, advertising and packaging.

The exhibition was beautifully designed and curated, we would highly recommend the guided tour.

Century: 100 Years of Type in Design has been extended until July 31st 2014.
